Big Woods Bloomington

Been here a couple of times and always had good experiences and food. Came in on a Sunday after lunch with a group of 10 (called ahead and reserved) and it seemed like we were just unlucky in our arrival time as it took a very long time for the food to arrive. Adrian (the manager and our server) took great care of us and went the extra effort to fix the problem and make it right. The food was excellent as was the service, will definitely be returning soon.

This location is definitely a destination for college students, so you may plan your visit accordingly if you are accompanied by children. My friends and I ate here on a weekday during dining hours and the service was decent. We sent a Coke back because it was flat and it took a while to get our waiter's attention at times; however, he was very helpful in making recommendations and was very polite. It is a beer fan destination, but I found my special of the day, Chicken tacos, affordable and delicious.

Service had always been prompt and friendly. The food and pizza are amazing; if you’re a fan of quaff ON! Beer or hard truth distillery you will love this place. The cabin, located on property, is a wonderful Intimate place to have a drink and wait for a table. John waited on me today in the cabin and he made great, Intelligent and witty small talk. It somehow made you feel at home. Can’t say enough great things about this place.

Great food and awesome staff. The pizza-like bread was delicious --- crispy crust, melty toppings with tangy sauce.The beer list is nice and extensive and there are cocktails and wine options.The seared tuna tacos are tasty with a side of rice.The quinoa burger is juicy and tasty, highly recommended. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Perfect for either groups or couples.

Food was good, serving size large, and our server was very friendly.

Food was tasty and looked appetizing. Service was good as well.

We had a large group and preferred to sit with each other. Unfortunately the seating arrangements are not as flexible as we were hoping for, even outside! Our group of 10 had to be split up into 3 tables, however we decided to stay bc we heard the food was better and healthier than other places. I ordered the grain bowl with salmon and it looked great! However when I started eating it, I was disappointed. The bowl, grains specifically were soggy and drenched in water. Another person in our group ordered it as well and had the same issue/complaint. The others ordered burgers and seemed to be happy with their food.

One of Bloomington's best. Great food and drink menu and ambiance is cozy yet open.

Food was great, especially enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. The burger was exceptional and the wedge salad was fresh and crisp. Would certainly recommend the quafftoberfest beer which was tasty and refreshing!

A great spot to go in town for food and drink. Staff is awesome and fun! The Bloody Mary specials on Sunday are a must. Great selection of pizza!

My favorite brewhouse in Bloomington and home to my favorite beer - the Busted Knuckle. Recommend the fish and chips! Just avoid the pineapple coconut couscous. It's gross

I think I found my go to for those special days where I want to treat myself. Fantastic burgers and a great atmosphere. Staff seem to always do a good job providing service. When her it's carry out or dine-in, Big Woods does not disappoint. Quaff on!

The food is always wonderful. The beer is more than wonderful. And the service has always been good. It has a nice, relaxed environment; and sitting outside is quiet and relaxing, despite being next to the road.

Fast friendly service! Great beer

I had the best burger of my life. They had some how managed to fuse together three different meats into a delectable creation with cheese and mushroom. The fries were mediocre and the pouitin was okay, but that burger... It haunts me. I must have another.

Good beer and great pulled pork nachos! Outdoor seating is super nice. As far as pub food goes, one of the best. Inside seat is a bit small, cramped and uncomfortable so I suggest going when the weather is nice

Great place, giving it 4 stars tho because we each got 10 fries with our meal which seemed unacceptable for a13$ meal. The few fries i got were really good tho.

If I lived in the area, this place would be a regular hang out for me. Whenever I travel, I try to get local brews and this was the place for that. I also ordered the Spicy Bacon Ranch Burger, which was outstanding. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

Everything was fantastic! Can't go wrong with the menu. We had the Bavarian pretzels, smokehouse pizza, fish & chips & candied bacon bomb. Craft beer tasty as well. Service was excellent with super friendly staff. Erika was our staff member & she was sweet & efficient. Look forward to going back.

They have a cozy little place in the downtown with a wide variety of beers. The pizza was decent as well.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but Big Woods came highly recommended. I got the Big Mouth Burger. It was a cheeseburger with bacon on top and pulled pork the burger. Husband got the fish sandwich, and Brother got the chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were amazing and were quite filling. I even liked the fries. (I like fries, but they can be hit or miss.)The beer selection was wide and came from an Indiana brewery. I've not no input on the quality of the beer since no of us ordered any.

Decent food, but incompetent service.We arrived at noon on a Sunday with a table of six, and placed our name with the host. When we received a text saying our table was ready, we arrived in fewer than five minutes. Our table wasn’t ready. Our table wouldn’t be ready for a further 10-15 minutes. Once seated and with order submitted, we felt relieved. But our order, consisting of three macaroni and cheese meals and three kids meals, took 45 minutes to prepare. While we waited we had to approach the bar for a drink refill, as our waitress was MIA. No apologies or explanations were offered by either the wait or host staff. And no discount was offered on our bill despite the miscommunication, mismanagement, and frankly awful service.
